Tony Fowler has represented Stonham Ward for 12 years on the
District Council. During this time he has continued to forward local
interests, putting needs of individuals and groups first. He remains
steadfast in his determination to improve the Stowupland and Creeting
Road, ideally a by-pass and is actively involved as Chair of the A140
Action Group. He is a local Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator and a
Liberal Democrat representative on Mid-Suffolk’s Crime Prevention Panel.
Tony is also Chair of the Village Hall Management
Committee which is seeking grants to extend facilities. At the District
Council his varied responsibilities include Vice-Chair of the Standards
Committee where he has made sure that procedures are thoroughly
scrutinised. His strengths and contributions were importantly recognised
when in 1999 he was appointed Chair of the Council for that year.
