We will provide appropriate, affordable housing. Liberal Democrats will increase resources and introduce new and innovative schemes to provide affordable homes where and when they are most needed.

We will:

Release more Council-owned land for affordable housing.

Work with parishes, landowners and housing associations to develop small "exception sites" for affordable housing.

Encourage shared-equity schemes to enable and encourage younger people into the housing market.

Ensure mixed tenure sites.

bullet

Require that all affordable housing is built to Very Good Eco Homes standard and to life times standard wherever possible.

bullet

Ensure that mixed tenure sites stay affordable in perpetuity for local people.

bullet

Meet the needs of all, young people, the elderly downsizing, locals and key workers.
