Encourage parish and town councils to report fly-tipping, graffiti, abandoned
vehicles, vandalised street furniture etc. and provide a rapid response to
rectify the problems

Make full use of powers under the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act to
tackle all forms of anti-social behaviour and support parish councils and local
communities to do the same.

Hold 'Community Safety Days' to build bridges between young and old, the
Police, residents and other agencies.

Improve communication with residents with regard to both reducing crime and
promoting Mid Suffolk as a safe District and effect long term solutions to
problems.

Provide more resources for the Council's Community Safety Officer to work
with the Police to target hotspots.

Promote new schemes to reduce criminal damage, shed burglaries, cycle theft
and other incidents which can prove so upsetting to residents and do not always
receive the attention they warrant.

Increase community policing in targeted areas.

Make better use of mobile CCTV and new technology to both deter anti-social
behaviour and to deal with problems in the District.

Help communities to provide more activities and projects for younger people
where they are needed and to meet the expectations of those young people.

Work with partner agencies to deal effectively with localised problems of
alcohol and drug abuse in the District.
